Credit Repair Background:
Madeleine lived in the ACT in a share house with a number of tenants. Madeleine was a full time student at University. The bills were in her name as it seemed easier than putting all the tenants’ names on the bill and she was the tenant who organized payment of the bills. She moved out of the apartment in late September 2014 and informed ActewAGL of her change of address and requested they close the account. She never received any correspondence from ActewAGL or the debt collection company they subsequently hired. Madeleine had no knowledge of the debt and she was never given the opportunity to pay the debt before it was listed as a default.
What were any challenges with the creditor?
The creditor responded to our Law Firm requests in a timely manner.
Why was the listing removed?
ActewAGL agreed to remove the default as the 21D notice was issued 29 days after the 6Q notice was issued.
Summary:
Madeleine engaged MyCRA Lawyers to investigate the likelihood of removal of a default listing on her credit file. The listing was the direct result of the time she moved house and she never received correspondence from ActewAGL. Madeleine only discovered the bad credit default listing when she applied for a home loan and was declined. MyCRA Lawyers negotiated the successful removal of her bad credit default listing in just 8 days. Madeleine* can now confidently apply for home loan. Congratulations Madeleine and good luck!
