Credit Repair Background:
At the time of getting the initial account, Troy and his wife were in severe financial difficulty due to being unemployed and his wife needing $700 for breast biopsy. Their friend offered to pay for these tests if he could get a plan for him. Due to stress of cancer, it was Troy’s only option to get his wife’s biopsy. Troy has since become employed and looking at mortgage when this listing was brought to his attention.
What were any challenges with the creditor?
Optus were adamant that the default was valid and they will only consider to remove the listing upon full and final payment of the outstanding balance.
Why was the listing removed?
MyCRA Lawyers lodged TIO and OAIC complaint. After OAIC complaint was submitted, Optus was presented with a resolution (remove the listing and complaints will be withdrawn). Optus emailed to advise that they would remove default but if Troy misses a payment, they may re-list the default. Optus asked for confirmation that Troy understood this before proceeding with removal request.
Summary:
Troy and his wife are applying for mortgage and were pre-approved however just as they got to submit contracts, they were alerted to the fact that Troy had a default. They engaged MyCRA Lawyers to investigate the likelihood of removal of a default listing on his credit file. MyCRA Lawyers negotiated the successful removal of his bad credit default listing in 217 days. Troy* can now achieve finance approval. Congratulations Troy and good luck!
