    Transcription

In this video we’ll show you how easy it is to refer a client or a friend to Mycra Lawyers.

Hi I’m Graham Doessel, Chief Executive Officer.

First thing of course is to make sure you’re at Mycra Lawyers home page. That’s M-Y-C-R-A Lawyers – L-A-W-Y-E-R-S dot com dot au home page.

Once your there, just click on the – sorry hover over the “Home” button and click on “refer a friend”. if that button has moved at any stage, you can always just type in the full address: www.mycralawyers.com.au/online-referrer

    That’s www.mycralawyers.com.au/online-referrer.

And it’s very very simple. It is just a matter of filling in the form. here we have your details so –  your details go in here, and your client details go down the bottom here in the green so you’re in the orange, clients in the green. And as soon as you fill that data in, press “send your referral” down here. Just here. Press “send your referral”. What that will do is when you put your email address in here – just here – it will send you a copy of the referral and it will send a copy directly to Mycra Lawyers as well.

You get the choice to choose whether or not you want us to contact the client directly or just give you a call first. It’s entirely up to you. We want to work with you the easiest way possible.

So, that’s how easy it is to send a client – refer a client or a friend to Mycra Lawyers.

    Hope that helps.

I was asked what we do at Mycra Lawyers. I said I help people remove defaults from their credit ratings so they can get the finance they’re after and I began to explain how studies reveal that there are more than three million (3,000,000) people out there with the type of bad credit that we might be able to remove or correct.

    I explained that most of these people probably don’t even know about the defaults as in many cases, the creditors may not have notified them the default was being added.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_2″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”center top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” padding=”0px” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”10px” animation_type=”0″ animation_direction=”down” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=””][fusion_imageframe lightbox=”no” lightbox_image=”” style_type=”dropshadow” bordercolor=”” bordersize=”0px” borderradius=”0″ stylecolor=”” align=”center” link=”” linktarget=”_self” animation_type=”0″ animation_direction=”down” animation_speed=”0.1″ hide_on_mobile=”no” class=”” id=””] Who says you can't polish a turd[/fusion_imageframe][fusion_text]

Believe it or not, this is a polished turd

In many cases, if the client was aware they’d be defaulted, most would have paid the bill long before it resulted in a bad credit rating.

This is the point where one person said with a sly smirk, “Yeah, but you can’t polish a turd

I was offended for every client. I wanted to wipe that smirk off his face but Mum always told me to behave in public…

    I said to (lets call him ‘X’) X, what do you mean, “you can’t polish a turd”?[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container][fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_3″ last=”no” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=””][fusion_youtube id=”aTPTRhaguvs” width=”300″ height=”200″ autoplay=”no” api_params=”” class=””/][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”2_3″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=””][fusion_text]X said, “If these people just paid their bills on time, they wouldn’t have this problem.”

It’s unfortunate that people that haven’t been through something as traumatic as a death in the family or the loss of a job etc can sit on their high horse and judge.

I have been bankrupt.  It is a major part of why, since 2003, my focus has been on helping people with bad credit issues.

    In 1999, I took on a business partner who believed it was in my best interest if he helped himself to money that he had encouraged me to borrow… I was naive.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container][fusion_builder_container background_color=”” background_image=”” background_parallax=”none” enable_mobile=”no” parallax_speed=”0.3″ background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” video_url=”” video_aspect_ratio=”16:9″ video_webm=”” video_mp4=”” video_ogv=”” video_preview_image=”” overlay_color=”” overlay_opacity=”0.5″ video_mute=”yes” video_loop=”yes” fade=”no” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” padding_top=”0″ padding_bottom=”0″ padding_left=”0″ padding_right=”0″ hundred_percent=”no” equal_height_columns=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” menu_anchor=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][fusion_text]Long story short, he left me with no cash and no way to pay the bills that I believed had already been paid…

Since then, I have made it my mission to help others learn from my mistakes and avoid having to feel it themselves.

Most of our clients at Mycra Lawyers are Good People that have had a tough time in the past, have got their ‘stuff’ together and are trying to move forward.

Many are held back by defaults that may actually have been placed unlawfully.  It is our job to uncover what legislation or compliance breaches have occurred and to then instruct the creditor to remove the unlawful default.

Historically this has happened in up-to 91.7% of cases.  That’s a better than 9 out of 10 success rate.

So, back to polishing a turd…

    When I heard this statement, apart from making my blood boil at the shortsightedness of it, it reminded me of an episode of Myth Busters where they in fact proved you can polish a turd…[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container][fusion_builder_container background_color=”” background_image=”” background_parallax=”none” enable_mobile=”no” parallax_speed=”0.3″ background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” video_url=”” video_aspect_ratio=”16:9″ video_webm=”” video_mp4=”” video_ogv=”” video_preview_image=”” overlay_color=”” overlay_opacity=”0.5″ video_mute=”yes” video_loop=”yes” fade=”no” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding_top=”20″ padding_bottom=”20″ padding_left=”0″ padding_right=”0″ hundred_percent=”no” equal_height_columns=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” menu_anchor=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][fusion_text]So, to all the Naysayers out there that seem to believe a person’s mistake defines them for life, I say phooey to you

Our clients are good people that have had a ‘turd’ of an experience that deserve a second chance and that’s what we aim to do. To give them that second chance that they deserve.

Just because they went through a messy breakup and their partner ‘forgot’ to make the payments that they said they’d make, or they were focused on their family when they had a death in the family and overlooked the credit card bill…  Or they sold their house, told the energy company “connect the [new address] on this date, disconnect the [old address] on this date as we are moving” then the energy company sends the final bill 3 months later to the old address… then because it’s not paid, they get a default???

This stuff happens all the time and don’t get me started on the rising number of Identity Theft issues that cause even more grief and are definitely nothing to do with the victim…

If you get a potential client or meet someone that may have a bad credit rating, don’t be an ‘X’, show some compassion.  It’s likely that it’s not a fair judgement.  It’s likely it’s unlawful and it’s likely it can be removed.

    So, in the words of Adam and Jamie…[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container][fusion_builder_container background_color=”” background_image=”” background_parallax=”none” enable_mobile=”no” parallax_speed=”0.3″ background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” video_url=”” video_aspect_ratio=”16:9″ video_webm=”” video_mp4=”” video_ogv=”” video_preview_image=”” overlay_color=”” overlay_opacity=”0.5″ video_mute=”yes” video_loop=”yes” fade=”no” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” padding_top=”20″ padding_bottom=”20″ padding_left=”0″ padding_right=”0″ hundred_percent=”no” equal_height_columns=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” menu_anchor=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][fusion_imageframe lightbox=”no” lightbox_image=”” style_type=”none” bordercolor=”” bordersize=”0px” borderradius=”0″ stylecolor=”” align=”none” link=”” linktarget=”_self” animation_type=”0″ animation_direction=”down” animation_speed=”0.1″ hide_on_mobile=”no” class=”” id=””] Myth Busted![/fusion_imageframe][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container][fusion_builder_container background_color=”” background_image=”” background_parallax=”none” enable_mobile=”no” parallax_speed=”0.3″ background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” video_url=”” video_aspect_ratio=”16:9″ video_webm=”” video_mp4=”” video_ogv=”” video_preview_image=”” overlay_color=”” overlay_opacity=”0.5″ video_mute=”yes” video_loop=”yes” fade=”no” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” padding_top=”20″ padding_bottom=”20″ padding_left=”0″ padding_right=”0″ hundred_percent=”no” equal_height_columns=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” menu_anchor=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][fusion_separator style_type=”shadow” top_margin=”” bottom_margin=”” sep_color=”” border_size=”” icon=”” icon_circle=”” icon_circle_color=”” width=”” alignment=”center” class=”” id=””/][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container][fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_2″ last=”no” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=””][fusion_text]If you or someone you know or care about has (or may have) bad credit, call Mycra Lawyers for now on 1300-667-218 for an obligation free 10 minute confidential chat with one of my team to see if you are likely to be in the up-to 9 in 10 people we can help.

You are a young parent in your 20s. This is probably the most exciting time of your life. You plan all the trips you wish to take your new born child on. Therefore, you desperately require a new car to transport your growing family. You apply for the car loan but you learn of two defaults existing on your credit file.

    Cost of this: No car to transport your newborn child.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_3″ last=”no” spacing=”yes” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_text]Scenario 2:

You have been working really hard for two years in a full time job. You receive a solid and steady income. Every week you put money aside to save for a deposit on your new home. You have been planning and designing every detail from the flooring to the fabric of the curtains. You wonder if you will ever there. You reach your goal amount! You are now able to begin searching for the house you have been working so hard for.

You do some research, find a mortgage broker, and begin the process of applying for a home loan. Your mortgage broker asks you a standard array of questions. One of those questions is if you have any problems on your credit file. You declare a store card that you had when you were younger. At this time your spending was out of control and you were unable to keep up with the payments.  Although you eventually paid this debt you were still struck with a black mark on your credit file at that time.

Because of this, you could only be approved for high interest finance through a second-tier lender.  They charged a large initial fee and offered an interest rate two percent above what you could have got if you had a clean credit file.

    Cost of this: A large amount of your deposit.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_3″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_text]Scenario 3:

You and your partner have been saving for your retirement all of your life. Your children have moved out. You both decide that this is now a prime time to fulfill your dreams of adventuring to all the places you wish to visit on your own boat. You have collectively decided on the boat that suits both your needs.  This will make your retirement the luxury experience it should be.

You approach a broker to be told the devastating news that there is currently a court judgement on your credit file. This court judgement would remain on your credit file for another four years.  The judgement had arisen as part of a commercial dispute that had now been settled. Your broker could not recommend a second-tier lender because the interest rates were so high that you would be put in hardship trying to pay the monthly instalments.

The worst part is the cost of finance to purchase a leisure product is expected to rise over the next four years. Therefore, when your credit file is clear, you wouldn’t be able to afford to purchase the dream boat. Taking away you and your partners dream of adventuring around the world on your own boat. Something you have both planned for all your life.

Cost of this: Unfulfilled life dreams[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”5_6″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_text]The thing that all these three scenarios have in common is a default has affected their way of life or dreams within life. These scenarios demonstrate the inability to obtain adequate finance. check credit fileWe recently read a comprehensive article on getting a free copy of your credit report written by Alex Wilson over at online savings website – www.Savingsguide.com.au.

From the long list of comments on this issue, we can see just how many people in Australia still remain in the dark about how to even simply get a copy of their credit rating, let alone dispute any bad credit which they believe should not be there. We take you through some important points from this article and look in more depth at what you should do if you have something like a default or Judgment or other credit listings on your credit report that you feel is incorrect, inaccurate or unfair.

By Graham Doessel, Founder and CEO of MyCRA Lawyers and www.fixmybadcredit.com.au.

In the article How To Do A Credit Check – Check Your Credit Rating & Credit Report For FREE – you will learn how to perform a credit check to obtain a copy of your credit report. The importance of checking your credit rating – particularly prior to applying for a home loan, or other significant credit – cannot be overstated.

In this day and age, everything works on credit so you need to have a clear credit rating to be able to function well in society. If you cop a default on your credit file – you will be refused credit with mainstream lenders (at affordable interest rates). If you do get a loan, often the interest rate is much higher. You may also find you can’t get credit cards or mobile phones on a plan. But there are many people who don’t know they have a default on their credit file until they apply for credit and the bank does a credit check on them. To be one step ahead, it is better to check your credit file first – and give yourself a chance to dispute any bad credit history and have incorrect listings removed prior to applying for credit.

“I was worried about my credit report

If you are anything like me, you have probably missed a few phone bills, perhaps missed a mortgage repayment by accident or even worse – gone overseas and been missing in action for a few months with banks frantically trying to get in touch with you.

It made me wonder whether these oversights would affect my credit history and in turn my ability to borrow money come time for a home loan,” Alex writes in the article.

On a side note, oversights like forgetting a credit card bill, a mortgage repayment or any type of payment to a licenced Creditor will see a late payment notation added to your credit file now – and that will be visible from March 2014.

Just what impact this will have on your ability to obtain credit is still up in the air – but having too many late payments, or even just one, could mean you are refused credit, or offered credit at a higher interest rate in the future.

How to Check Your Credit Rating For Free

You can contact us at any stage to do the work for you to obtain a free copy of your credit file  or alternatively, here is a run-down of how Alex checked his credit rating for free:

The first credit rating provider I am going to use is called ‘My Credit File’ – they are part of Veda Advantage, one of Australia’s largest credit reporting agencies.

Like many credit rating providers, they offer both a paid and free service. I am of course opting for the free service. All this means is I have to wait a little longer for it to arrive I am told. Not a huge deal.

How to do a free credit check with Veda/MyCreditFile [Now Equifax]

1.)  I went to www.mycreditfile.com.au 2.)  I then went to the ‘personal’ tab 3.)  Scrolled down to find the button stating ‘Free – Find out more’ 4.)  Loaded the page called ‘Free Credit File’ which tells you all the details you need to fill out 5.)  I then downloaded this form to request a free copy of my credit report 6.)  I attached a scanned copy of my drivers license (or passport) and also a copy of my utility bill proving my name and residential address. 7.)  Done

I have to say, it was all rather easy. I now just have to wait 10 working days for my credit report to arrive.

Why do they offer a paid version of your credit rating report?

If you are wondering what the difference is with the paid version from MyCreditFile – please note that the only difference is that you pay $99.95 and it in turn comes to you via post, email or fax within 1 working day. E.g. you save 9 days. Still the same report.

Dun and Bradstreet credit rating reportCredit Report

Like Veda[Equifax], Dun and Bradstreet are one of the big players in credit ratings. They are used by many companies as the source of reporting on credit.

They by law have to offer you a free credit report and free copy of your credit history as discussed earlier. Here is how to get it.

How to get a copy of your credit report from DNB 1.)  Go to https://www.dnbcreditreport.com.au/ 2.)  Look to click on ‘standard credit report’ or similar – e.g. not fast tracked. 3.)  On the standard request page you then fill out the online form (takes around 3minutes) 4.)  Attach copies of your identification 5.)  Submit/mail it 6.)  You’re done.

Much easier than the MyCreditFile.com.au website – it’s as if the previous site was trying to hide the free report (well they certainly made it hard to find).

A bit about the Credit Score

If the bank does a credit check on you, they will obtain your credit score. But you are not privy to this number if you order a copy of your credit report – paid or otherwise.

People often ask ‘what is a good credit score?’ – however these credit scoring metrics are often kept confidential with the lenders and credit reporting agencies.

They are a metric that lets them give you an assigned score based on how much debt you currently have, how many credit applications you have filled out recently and more. It is more for the lenders to use to easily categorise people, so it isn’t often you get to find out your exact credit score – which in turn can make it hard to improve your credit score.

In my opinion, everyone should have access to their credit score, and the method used to calculate it.

How do I fix my bad credit?

If you have bad credit – you have two options….

    1. You can attempt to remove the default or other credit listing yourself, and there are processes to do this – OR

    2. You can use a professional credit repair service.

The benefit in fixing your own bad credit is that it’s cheap. You may have very little costs associated with disputing your own credit listing. But similarly to defending yourself in Court – the cheap option may not be the best one for you.

Credit rating errors are quite common, and the onus of ensuring the accuracy of your credit file rests with you. But how do you know if a listing has been placed accurately on your credit file, or if it should be there in the first place?

There are strict codes of conduct and legislation which must be adhered to when your Credit Provider is placing a default or other credit listing on your credit file. These laws are in place to protect consumers from unfair and damaging credit reporting. Creditors are largely aware of this legislation (yet may not have adhered to it), but there are very few consumers who are well-versed in credit reporting and industry legislation.

In order to dispute a credit listing which you believe shouldn’t be there, you must identify where the Creditor has not adhered to current legislation when placing the notation on your credit file. There is a whole barrage of points which need to be met in order to constitute a valid listing, and if you have not been made aware of all the avenues for dispute, then you could be doing yourself and your case a disservice.

A reputable credit repair Lawyer should dig deeper to conduct an audit-like investigation of your credit complaint to uncover errors or non-compliance.

What’s the process for a credit repairer to fix my bad credit?

Credit repair is not an exact science, because every case is different but there are some common threads which run through credit reporting law which we follow.

Firstly, we order a free copy of your credit file on your behalf from one or more of Australia’s credit reporting agencies which tells us exactly who and what we are dealing with in relation to the bad credit.

Then we investigate any avenues for disputing your credit listing or listings with your creditor. This involves requesting documentation from your creditor about your account. The creditor can at times take a while to provide the information they should.

Then the information we receive is cross-referenced against the appropriate legislation for potential compliance errors.

Then we formally communicate with your creditor to request the removal of what we would then deem to be a listing placed on your credit file unlawfully. This process can be a bit ‘back –and- forth’, as there are procedures that we, and they have to follow in accordance with industry and the law as well as negotiations which take place behind the scenes with creditors. The complaint may also need to be escalated to a higher authority such as an industry Ombudsman if there is no satisfaction with the creditor.

If the creditor agrees to remove the listing, we ask you to contact the credit reporting agencies at a later date to confirm it has been removed. (You don’t generate a credit ‘enquiry’ on your credit file if you request the information yourself – and too many credit enquiries could see you refused a loan).

How long will it take to fix my bad credit?

The length of time it will take to remove bad credit from your credit file is very much an unknown factor.

It could depend on the particular facts relating to your application, including the evidence required to support each party’s claims; on the amount of cooperation we receive from your creditor/s including how quickly they respond to our requests; on the number of issues raised in your application; the volume and relevance of information and supporting documents provided by you and the complexity of the legislation relating to your particular defaults.

At MyCRA Credit Rating Repairs, the costs involved are not based on the amount owing nor the time it takes to remove the listing, but are on a per-listing basis. For more information on costs, visit our main website www.mycra.com.au.

    Warning

Not all credit repairers are the same.

What makes a good Credit Rating Repair Company?

    1. Transparency

You need full disclosure of fees and charges up front. You need to know exactly what the service will cost before you spend a single cent. Are there any Guarantees in place, what about refund policies. Then, is it all written down?

    2. History

Are there testimonials, and can you verify them? Anyone can write a testimonial, but are they willing to put their name on it and have you call them? If you can’t call the person that’s raving about the Credit Rating Repair Company, how do you know it is a real testimonial and not just made up?

    3. Expectations

What are your chances of success, what are the refund policies, how long is it going to take? These are all questions that you should be able to answer before you speak to anyone. This information should be published on their website.

In addition to these 3 items, there are a few others to check on as well.

-Are they a “One Man Band”?
    – Do they have the resources to do what they say they do?
    – Is it a Registered Company or just a business name? (how to check..)
    – Are they registered with the ATO (Australian Taxation Office) for GST (Making more than $75,000 PA requires registration) (How to check..)

    The main message here is:

Before you hand over your hard earned cash, make sure you do your homework and know who it is that you are dealing with.

MyCRA Credit Rating Repairs publishes costs, product information, is fully registered, has the resources and experience, has verifiable testimonials, is registered for GST, and is an established business in Both Australia and New Zealand. You can speak to MyCRA for FREE and if we don’t think we can help, we won’t charge you a thing.
