Credit Repair Background:
Whilst Vasanth* was overseas for 6 months his business had some difficulties and he was unable to pay the bills. Credit Repair Background:

Helen* contacted MyCRA Lawyers to have several credit enquiries removed from her credit file. This particular enquiry resulted from when Helen’s broker was discussing finance options with her and making enquiries on her behalf. Helen asked her broker (no longer employed by the company) if these enquiries would show on her credit file. Helen’s broker assured her that because he was “just giving a scenario to them” (or words to that effect) that no enquiries would be listed. Axess Today stipulated that the listing was valid and refused to remove the enquiry.

Tammy had an ADT alarm monitoring service for her home and she was having difficulties with the alarm as it would not set properly when leaving the house. Tammy subsequently had a dispute with ADT regarding an invoice that had two call-out/repair fees instead of only one. Tammy advised ADT that she would only pay once the invoice had been amended and a correct invoice was provided. ADT agreed to this condition, however, they never provided an amended invoice.

What were any challenges with the creditor?
ADT refused to remove the default and only updated the default status to paid.

Why was the listing removed?
After initial communication with the creditor, MyCRA Lawyers further reviewed the matter and noticed a specific error in the reporting process. MyCRA Lawyers then sent a correction request to Equifax as the matter was listed as a commercial default but it was a consumer contract. Equifax agreed, and the default was removed.
