Credit Repair Background:
Jason instructed MyCRA Lawyers that he and his partner purchased an apartment and connected the power with AGL while they were tiling the apartment throughout and needed power connected for a few weeks.
Once completed, they leased the property through a property manager. Credit Repair Background:
Michael instructed MyCRA Lawyers that he had a credit card account with Citibank in which he went over the credit limit. Michael advised that he paid money towards the account and paid off the account in a couple of months to a zero balance. Citibank contacted him again and advised to pay the account in full. Michael did pay the card out and contacted them to query why they charged him extra fees, as previously they advised that the account was closed due to non-payment. Citibank advised the account was re-opened again. Michael instructed that he did not receive any notices to say he was in breach of the contract and only ever spoke to them on the phone. Michael was not under any knowledge of default of payment. Michael never had issues paying the account, however the problem was, he did not know unless contacted through phone.

What were any challenges with the creditor?
Citibank took too long to respond to our complaints. Eventually the matter was escalated to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).

Why was the listing removed?
A complaint was escalated to the FOS as Citibank was not able to respond to our complaint accordingly. It was noted that there were different account numbers on the statements and payments made were not allocated correctly. As payments were not allocated correctly, it appeared to Citibank that the account was not paid and they had accelerated the total amount due. Citibank contacted our firm as a result of the escalation and advised that after review of our issues raised they will remove the default listing.

Summary:
Michael was referred to our office by his mortgage broker. We managed to negotiate removal of his default listing in 86 days and they can now move on with their life knowing that they are no longer impaired by the incorrect listing. Congratulations Michael and good luck!

Credit Repair Background:

Credit Repair Background:
Ryan had a personal loan with Suncorp. He moved in November 2013 and did not let Suncorp know that he was moving. Ryan was going through hardship as he lost his Job and his place of residence and had to move back in with his parents. Ryan found out about the default listing when he did a credit report check.

What were any challenges with the creditor?
Suncorp wanted payment for the documents under Australian Privacy Principal 12. After documents were received, MyCRA Lawyers noted a lack of evidence for the default notice and a response letter was sent to Suncorp. Suncorp advised they will not be responding as the case is closed. We then represented Ryan in submitting a complaint was then escalated to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).

Why was the listing removed?
A complaint was submitted to the FOS as Suncorp was unable to provide a copy of the default notice and would not review the matter further when it was brought to their attention. After FOS’ intervention, Suncorp then agreed to remove the listing.

Summary:
Ryan was in the middle of purchasing a house and wanted his default removed. It took a little longer for his default resolution due to Suncorp not wanting to discuss the issues but MyCRA Lawyers managed to negotiate removal of his default listing in 81 days and Ryan can now move forward financially. Credit Repair Background:

Credit Repair Background:
Luke and his partner had a son in 2009. He was struggling financially but tried to make every payment he could. Luke had a GE card for an interest free purchase (lounge) about 4-5 years ago and thought he had paid it out in full as he made a lump sum payment from his tax return and after more payments, he stopped receiving statements from GE which he thought meant it was paid.
