Credit Repair Background:
David went through a messy divorce and moved out of his marital home. David suffered financial and emotional hardship following this and his family business went into liquidation. Credit Repair Background:
Benjamin had an account with Optus that was overdue. He was aware of the outstanding amount and was disputing the validity of the charges. When he moved to the United States, Optus rang him to pay the total amount. He disputed the matter again and refused to pay. They asked to settle and pay half, in return they would reconnect his service. Benjamin agreed and paid the amount. Benjamin was a part time student at the time and he was not willing to pay for a bill that he disputed had incorrect charges.

Credit Repair Background:
Luke and his partner had a son in 2009. He was struggling financially but tried to make every payment he could. Credit Repair Background:
Craig had a credit card a account with Westpac which was part of the finance package when he was granted a home loan by Westpac. In January 2014 he moved house when he and his wife separated. Craig met with the bank manager and advised they had seperated and that his ex-wife was living in the house and covering the mortgage and then also looked at borrowing to cover the debt but was knocked back. He received a call from Westpac advising the payments were behind in which he advised that he and his wife were separating and would be paid on settlement. Credit Repair Background:
Joseph had an account with Vodafone in which was incorrectly charged excessive data charges. When he called to question the bill Vodafone told them that the data package had gone up with out his consent because he was close to his data limit.
Joseph disputed the charges specifically with TIO and it was found that Vodafone incorrectly charged Joseph.

Why was the listing removed?
As Joseph’s TIO complaint was only about the data charges, an investigation never took place surrounding the default. The letters from Vodafone were being sent to an address Joseph had never provided to Vodafone and never live at.

Credit Repair Background:
Paul had a credit card account with Westpac. He only found out about the default listing through his broker because he wanted to buy land. Credit Repair Background:
Michelle* took out a lease for goods through Flexirent to assist her friend and her friend was to make the payments. Michelle* was unaware that her friend did not pay the outstanding amount.
