Credit Repair Background:
Amanda had 3 enquiries and 1 default listing on her credit file. The Optus default happened when she moved to Tumut and there was no service on her mobile phone. She contacted Optus and went to an Optus shop to explain that she had no reception in Tumut. Amanda went to the ombudsman to get out of the contract as they could not give her a sufficient service that she was paying for. Optus let her and her husband out of their contracts but her husband’s phone had a crack in the screen and they would not accept it so they had to pay $600. Instead, Amanda and her husband sent the phone away to get fixed with Optus, however; Optus never returned it thus Amanda and her husband never paid the amount owing due to not receiving the phone back and assuming the process was complete.
